Meanwhile, many of the Enterprise crewmembers take advantage to enjoy some time-off from the Enterprise. I would not have noticed when I saw this. It was even given an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series, which is all thanks to those Bynars.Ä«y the way, would it surprise you to know that the Bynars are played by women including Katy Boyer, Alexandra Johnson, Iva Lane and Kelli Ann McNally. To be fair, this ‘Star Trek’ episode is regarded as one of the best from ‘TNG’s first season.
This is especially when they talk at high speeds in order to conduct their maintenance check on the Enterprise. The Bynars rely on the binary computer language. But this makes them interesting as aliens dependent on one thing. This makes it confusing and sometimes comedic when the Bynars do talk. One Bynar starts a sentence while the other finishes it. The Bynars are humanoid aliens that usually go in pairs and have an intriguing way of talking. I’ve seen that movie a lot to know it by heart.Īnyway, the Enterprise’s maintenance checks are being conducted by a group of alien called the Bynars. The episode has the Enterprise going for a routine maintenance check at Starbase 74, which looks remarkably like the starbase featured in ‘Star Trek III’. But wait, the episode’s title is a clue to the solution of what goes on in this. I can’t even remember the numbers in the title from memory.
